Hi all, bit of help needed if possible! I have just bought a 1998 mondeo 2.5 ghia x and it only came with the red key and a t shaped key but i believe it had a remote central locking key from new. I read in the manual that a key can be programmed from the red key but will that just be the immobiliser or will that program the remote locking system ? I have seen the genuine ford remotes with blank keys for sale on ebay and thought it may be a economical way out?

You can get the remote off ebay and then take it to ford and have it programmed , the last one i had done cost me Ł27 to be done by ford .

 

they can be proggramed by you to unlock the car according to my autodata cd
