Default Merc Sprinter problem.

Any bods on here maybe point me in the right direction with a bit of a problem on my Sprinter.

Occasinally (usually going up a certian slip road onto motorway uphill) The engind decides to not rev past about 3,000 revs or about 45-50 MPH. Almost like it`s in a safety mode.

It`s happened on this same road three times now, and at other places.

It goes on like this until I pull up at work and switch off, then seems ok again.

Anybody have any ideas.

cheers

Tony

This is the way forward.

There is a vacuum solenoid valve under the airbox that controls the turbo boost pressure. They usually go fucked causing loss of power.

Give the clutch switch a visual inspection. Make sure it's not loose.

Had a problem like this on a 51 plate at a place I worked at, annoyingly intermittent that usually showed a clear when the mechanic plugs his computer in, It turned out to be a 10 bob sensor on the nearside of the engine, just a fucking nuisance to diagnose.
