What do you choose in a partner????
Are you simply happy with someone you just get on with or do they have to meet with a certain criteria?
Reason I ask is I've just been talking with a lass I know. She's 28, well educated and in a good job. She's not long split up with her fella who was university educated and a PE teacher at a local high school.
She went out on a date with a mate of mine who's but a mere postman and they got on really well. But she turned round to me tonight and said there's no future in it because they're ultimately different intellects and she wants someone on her level......... She's a proper fitty too!
I think if two people get on what the hell, go for it!

I could never go out with a stupid bird, no matter how fit she was.
There has to be sexual attraction, but there really has to be intellectual attraction too. I still fancy my wife after being with each other for over 12 years, but she's also my best mate as we get on so well. If she was a thicky it wouldn't have lasted a week.

You can't wank over someone's personality. But at the same time, you can't sit and think of the good times over looks alone. Personality is important, and so are looks. I don't care what anyone says, if there isn't a personal attraction then it's not going to work, and people are kidding themselves.
She could have the best personality in the world, but when you walk her up the aisle, you want to look at what you percieve to be the most beautiful looking woman in the world. I like a woman who can make me laugh, isn't up herslef and knows how to have a good time.

DanW@FastFord, I agree, but it's simply a case of her being a 'snob' in my opinion. If two people do actually just get on, regardless of education or career path, then why not I say!

i go out with a girl alot cleverer than me, fair bit richer too. to me thats not a problem, dont seem to be for her either
we have a strong friendship and sexual attraction which have to be the main parts of making a relationship work, unless there snobby or up them selves etc....
just to add, usually i am friends with a person before i get into a relationship but the majority of my friends (the female ones) i find attractive if that makes a difference

tbh mate , i think its one of them things were if two folk click , then the other things dont matter ,
yea looks and values ect are all good and help the longevity of a relationship ,
my missus loves me for me , my personality ( as u know ) is one of a kind lol and she loves my oddball attitude to life ect , that and a good sex life lol
also for me , she helped me thru the reecent death of my father last year , she put up with my mood swings , me being distant , the greif ,the anger ect ,
not once did she pressure me , or complain ect ,
lol the more i think about her the more i relaise just what she means to me

I picked my wife cause she was pretty a nice body was really nice to talk to and was funny. I always said i would never get married but she changed how i thought. I love her to bits. I hope you find a nice bird fella.

Not seen the word Love in any of the replies, most of what i read is falling in Lust a different thing. Lust wont last & most relationships prove that.
My Missus was simply the nicest person i have ever met & also very attractive & I fell in Love with her, its still the same nearly 40 years later. When you are young you cant imagine that most of your lifetime wont be a Tesostorone driven sex fest & that you need something in a relationship that outlasts that.
