Lets see what all this Dubber fuss is about!
Basicly I brought an engine for a customers car, All payed for ect but its sitting in edinbrough. The coriour has totall fucked up and after going though all the correct presedures managed to stuff up the delivarly.
So as not to disapoint my customer im going to get it tonight.
Its 450miles each way
Now 900miles in the connect van would just be silly, especally as im trying to sell it.
So I went to my mates yard who had a semi stripped for parts Mk3 golf. I give him 40quid for it and all the bits to put it back together on the understanding when im done with it. I scrap it with him. Sounds more than fair. Its got 5days MOT left and tax till the end of the month.
Lets see just how reliable this vag stuff is that everyone bangs on about.
Im gunna guess it will have at least 1 breakdown.
I'll keep the blog updated. Just off to put it back together

Its like a top gear mini adventure
Dont forget to make up loads of absolute shite and deliberately break it lots of times so it looks like you wont make it, but always it gets going again somehow, then say stuff like "it just wont die, this incredible machine just WANTS to make it there, it's willing itself on, blah blah blah"

tbh its not just dubs, any car can be made reliable. I had an old cav I bought for 180 quid with 150k on the clock, I put another 7 on it, sold it to a mate who did another 5-6 and then it was sold on to someone at his work and is still going strong now as far as I know.

I got given a 1.3 carb mk2 golf a few years ago, had been sat for 4 years. Stuck a pair of jump leads on it, chucked some petrol in the carb and it fired up. That car went back and forward from herts to scotland for 2 years before being traded in for £200 against my old MR2. Only thing that ever went wrong was a blown fuse.

Its not that hard, I had to pick up a Fiesta shell from Kircaldy in Scotland, Im in Essex. I left at 00:15am, got there at 8:15, loaded up the shell onto the trailer, left at 09:15am and got back about 18:00 that evening, was about 950 miles all told. I stocked up on fodder, diet coke and Pro-Plus. TBH it was a fantastic drive, would do it again no problem.
