Anyone know much about the suzuki swift/mitsubushi colt?
Hi all
Thinking about chopping in mine and the mrs's banger and getting something a bit newer. Narrowed it down to the Colt/Swift. Leaning towards the colt because they seem to ba a couple of grand cheaper for similar age/spec.
Anyone owned/worked on/got any info on either? Looking at these shape ones. Before anyone says, yes I am fully aware they are jap snot boxes, but it is just going to be a shopping/nipping around town car, so style is of zero importance, just need reliability!
Cheers

We've had a few. I sold the one below to an old customer about 2 weeks ago. They'd written off a diesel Space Star they bought from us about 5 years ago [not getting fat off their repeat custom ].
iirc it was about 15k miles, 1.3 CZ2 with a/c and was Ł4799. They look fantastic value for money when put next to similar age Yaris/Clio/other popular small cars. Wouldn't be my choice personally although they do drive well for the class of car they sit in.
The paint is thin and they dent if you sneeze on them. Not had any major problems with any Suzuki or Mitsis but the latter seem to be terrible for knackered interior switches [windows/heater controls etc]. This one had to have a whole new drivers door thing put in and at that mileage imo it shouldn't!
If it's a "number plate" you're looking for [I know what women are like ] consider the Hyundai Getz as well as they generally drive as well as - if not better than - the Fiestas imo. Although they do have shockingly thin paint as well! But you get a nice long manufacturer's warranty.
Also consider a Mazda 2, they're basically fiestas on thalidomide.
