I guess I'm in a minority of one, but I found the 6 series to be a huge disappointment last year. I'm sorry about that but, as long as you like it, that's WAY more important than my thoughts.

The cabin and boot were both small for the size of the car, the ergonomics weren't great, and I just didn't find it a car I'd want to be in or to drive. For me, there are better cars out there for the same or less money.

Porkie i dont agree about the m5 looking like a taxi, they look nice like an elegant woman, the m6 just looks like a fat bird that goes well

I HAVE to like the look of the car...i would have thought an sl55 tuned and lowered like mine would be more your scene...faster jaw droppingly beautiful and with the dms setup ref suspension handle surprisingly well plus better on fuel! I love my sl more than the m5 if i am honest especially now the weather is better The m5 makes a nice everyday car though and very capable of some lunatic behaviour.....ohhhh and that v10 howl.....

Not sure if they suffer with the same cracking wheels the rest of the 6 series do? Or the 3 series for that matter.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE and have always reccomended and in fact HAVE bought an SL55 for a mate...

great cars.... but its a 2 seater... do you REALLY think I would EVER grab the keys to an SL55 over a Ferrari F430???

and please don't say the SL is quicker... coz I know!!!

But the Ferrari is just off the charts to drive. I love it soooo much! Its special in a way the merc could NEVER be!

I need a practical 4 seater fast convert... M6 or Audi RS4... or maybe a new M3 V8 droptop...

I like the M6

thats great advice there. Thanks alot Carlo.

Whats the room like in the back?

My old E46 M3 cab wasnt great. Seats very upright and no leg room.

Dont forget this is a family kinda car... NOT after ultimate driving thrills

Thanks again for your help! I guessed you would be the man with ALL the answers

Got to be carefull with stuff in the boot incase te folding roof foul's it if it bends the mechanism warranty dont pay.. We have a 335 conv in just now i will grab the keys 2 moro n have a look my work will think im daft sitting in the back of a car on the forecourt My mate on here russellsmith prefer's the audi rs4 to the new m3 he has had both , he also has a E60 m5 touring & loves it . Maria might be able to shed more light on the new bmw cab as well.

have the best of both worlds, the convertable hardtop thing that bmw do for the 3 series, spotted a new m3 version only yesterday, but failed to get a pic

might not be as big, but it's argueably a better driving car than the big 6

Porkie....

Check, check and double check again the service history!

It must of had its 1st service before the 1200 mile limit.

Get a good one and they are magic - but get a shed and its going to cost you a fortune... cheap car now doesnt change the fact they were banging on 80-90k new (as I'm sure you know).

they are full of running in oil from the factory - it needs to be changed to normal oil at that milage.

There is also the small problem of no warranty if its not been done!
