Asteroid dents? they fuckin warp!
Heard of a fault with them when I was at Audi, exhaust hangers can work loose and split the seam after mid-section, throws car into limp mode and is a pricey fix...

Yes.. just found a nice black one! it has poo brown leather which I quite like as well!
Just don't know much about them. So thought I would get some info (so I know whats gonna break when I get it )
They are fairly bombproof from what I little I know?
Lambchop... nope! this covers the bases for the day like last sunday.
Problem is... Its sunny... you wanna droptop... and you want some room to take your mum and sister and her boyfriend out to lunch! Solution M6 Droptop!
Will be a nice car to cruise over for Ring Trips in as well.... loadsa room for luggage and mates... roof down, 500bhp. Job done!

Always liked them as well.
Was lucky to be driven to my wedding with my best man in one of them when they had just come out, it had less than 80 miles on the clock.
Top down, sunny day, suited and booted, what a drive that was. Lovely car.
Its the one perk my mum has, having worked for the local main dealer for years is to borrow a demo car for the day every now and again.

the hard top looks ok once you get used to it
the soft top looks not bad with the top down
but the soft top with the top up looks very strange
at least that's what i think, but you are buying the car so my thoughts don't count seeing as you sound as if your mind is pretty much made up to get one
there's a purple one that tools about my way which looks really nice in the sunshine

might sell the 911 yes. Not sure... pretty attached to it to be honest!
BUT not sure when I would really use it now.... and I never really used it much in first place!
Its got KW V3 'manthey' spec suspension on and its a pretty firm ride... I've suddenly got all old and gay and like a comfy ride!

If you buy the right car lee there aint nothing to worry about on them! out of all of them we look after there is 2 that gives bother 1 black M5 thats cat d & had a very tough life & faults due to the accident not bmw! 2nd is m6 coupe that was remapped / de catted & never been right scince(it wasnt us that mapped or decatted it) The high pressure vanos lines can burst but most M6's were recalled / or quality enhanced for this. If you get me the last 7 of the chasis number i can check all this out for you.
Majority of times when these cars break its because someone has been fucking about with them.

If they are like the normal 6 series beemers I beleive that the bottom of the doors corrode fairly easy, fooks know why or how but I looked at 3 645ci coupes a couple of months back and 2 of the 3 had rust!!
Wicked looking motors though!!

Ive never seen any with rust see no less that 15-20 a week most weeks! Had one in with smg faults because owner was leaving the side lights on & causing batery discharge! great cars & can be used everyday without fail only downside is fuel but if you have money to buy one you have money to fuel it plus when you hear the engine not & feel how well they go you wont be as bothered

...the m5 is ally from the rear wings to front apparently....M6 too ugly hence i overlooked one (same sorta price as m5, what does that tell you!) imagine my ugly ass in an ugly car..just cant happen, i tried it with the saff
Porkie according to m5 board the smg is not very good and always going wrong something to do with the central bearing being wank? I of course took no notice...lol...best to leave std as i now am....make sure you get extended voice command as you can control the whole system without touching the idrive.

...to add the computers are more powerful than a home pc....it can identify virtually every fault...plus when service is due it says what needs changing.
As said fuel consumption is shocking hence why bmw are ditching the V10 i am averaging 13mpg

Porkie,
My old Mans got the coupe if you want a go in one if you havnt already.
On the road they are super fast in a straight line but in hard corners you do feel the weight of them.
On a track if your happy to let the back step out with the tc,edc abcdefg turned off they go well. But they are more of a fast cruiser than and out and out sports car.
Dads at Silverstone!

Had my M6 for about 7 months now. Been fine in every respect. It's not the soft top but I did have a 630 cab just before this.
Proper turn the key and just get on with it cars and not exactly slow either. Never had any problems with either of them.
