the only reason a v5 would never be issued is if its got a cod marker against it,
if thats the case, then the breaker who issued the cod marker has broken the law, because the car has not been destroyed
but that may also explain why the id was cut out
dvla also "say" lots of things lol
if it was a simple cat b, book a vic, vosa will do it, and remove the vic marker so a new v5 can be issued, theres no real big deal about it as far as im aware, a big part of our training was on cat a and b vic removal,

The reason given was that the car was such a high value claim that the car could not be put back on the road and possible be sold on at high value again and or have another high claim made against it

strange, i cant imagen value having any thing to do with it really,
the car will always show as a total loss on the database, so any insurer could easily refuse to insure it for those reasons which i have known in the past,
but that doesnt really have anything to do with dvla
as far as im aware, and the cases i dealt with, were simple, dvla just issued a new v5 once we had removed the vic marker. one of those was worth over 100k aswell!

would i be wrong to say im sure someone could find a way to get it back on the road, then offer it for sale in another country like germany or australia where there is also demand for such car as an RS500, and the buyer would prob not care if it has been damaged in the past CAT A or B or whatever wouldnt mean shit in another country or would it? (question!?)
so its been said it shouldnt be used on the road in the UK, but they are not only in demand here in the UK, many people wish to own an RS500 in many many other countries with there only being 500 and many like this written off. it would prob still sell for a silly amount elsewhere!
plenty of ringers floating about in countries where they dont even care about id or registration lol.

Im registered with copart, but with my address here in VN so i can buy CAT b's. Wouldn't want to put one back on the road though....too much hassle.
