HELP, ESC COS Water System
#4
this is a pic of the thermostat housing, should be easy enough to sort out.
the looped bit of pipe is there to bypass the intercooler/charge cooler, i have an rs500 type so i had to block it.
the two outlets which the blue hose is on,one will be the inlet into the ic/cc and one will outlet from the ic/cc.
Hope it has helped you.

if you have a saff thermo housing, the elbow on the thermostat will be facing the other way, that way, the metal pipe that runs across the ex. man will mate up to it.
Saff has a straight pipe, escos has one with the s bend in it.

When you bleed the water system ,,make shure the car isnt jacked up at the front as the water gets trapped at the back of the head and it wont bleed properly ,,Make shure the car is level Just a tip if ya didnt know

With the thermostat you have, elbow facing the rad,you will need the escos metal pipe, the s bend one( you can just see it in my pics ).
thats IF you are using the standard ic/cc.
if you have a rs500 type i/c you will not need the ic/cc so you will then need to do as i have done, get the horse shoe shaped pipe and redirect the water.
Also, if you are fitting a rs500 type i/c, you can use a saff thermostat housing and saff straight metal pipe( these will mate up in a straight line, therefore you will not need the s bend pipe and the horse shoe pipe.)
I have the thermostat housing off the saff somewhere, also the ic/cc if you need it,might have the metal pipe too,the straight one.
Very cheap to you too.
Hope you understood all that. lol.

Not too sure Steve, but not sure if it matters tbh, as long as its flowing through it.

the pipe that faces forward on my thermostat, is that to connect to the top or the bottom of the charge cooler??
i'm sure later in life i'll put a big intercooler, but i just cant afford it at the moment.
