Default I need a decorating tip..............???????

Unfortunately i am decorating the sitting room and need some advice.
I'm stripping some wallpaper off by using a steamer, all is going well but i need to remove any glue residue as i'm just going to paint the walls again. The wall underneath is in good condition and has a coating of vinyl silk.Walls are plasterboard btw.Any tips for the removal of the glue so the paint goes on smooth? Strange request i know, but hey! Thanks in advance, back to the stripping!

i think once it dries it will be fine

as most of it will come off with steamer anyway

leave the steamer on the wall longer

i lining paper the walls before i paint them

as i find you may mark it with scrapping etc

also i left steamer on too long and it popped the plasterboard (i.e. sprung out a bit) it went back flat but cracked a slight bit near join.

warm water and a scourer and lots of elbow grease or if not line the walls with linning paper then emulsion for the best results
