Lost Escort XR3i
Hi guys
Ive recently been longing for my XR3i which I sold 10-11 years ago. It was a red XR3i, reg A84 JOD, I sold it to a chap living in Paignton, Devon.
If anyone knows what has happened to my car i would be very grateful.
Thanks for Looking
Paul

XR3's, rare to see one these days.
I was cruising back down the m40 today coming back from scotland in a Mk5 Golf and a Mk4 escort joined the M40 in front of me and pulled away ( i was already going pretty quick).
It took a while to catch up ,and here was me thinking it must be an RS turbo, but it was just a tidy old black XR3, Mk4. I passed and let it re-pass at which point he gunned it off down the road, not bad for a 22 yr old pile of junk, makes me almost nostalgic about my Y reg XR3i I had back in 1991!
#Sorry to add but your old car will have been crushed and cubed and gone a long time ago if its never been taxed since.

dunno why folk come on to other peoples posts and slag the subject?
had loads of XR3i's and loved them, good fun, looked smart and super cheap to sort if anything ever went wrong. Rare to see good ones on the road now, but they always turn heads. Good ones starting to creep up in value now as well.

the one and only time i nostalgically bought back my rs turbo i bought it with blinkers on,it was rotten as a pear and ended up that no one wanted to weld it.good luck with the hunt,im sure if it was an enthusiast that had it in 01 it will be garaged somewhere as '1 day' it will get fixed.good luck

If only if only, i could my caspian blue y-reg XR3i back.... mmmmm! Lowered with mk4 doglegs. God that car looked the dogs bollocks. Mind u that was 17 years ago. Woz one of the only 17year old owners at that time in my town. 1600pound insurance premium at that time. Car only cost 750pound. Rez and phantasia tunes blasting. Friday and saturday nights were cruise nights. God those was good times. Snes mariokart and some stella.

its funny how you get attatched to cars i would love my old red XR4I back B107BML, but probably long gone now, i loved that car but it was a good few years back, i would happily have that over my 3 door as mad as that sounds.

I know the feeling, i loved my radaint red mk4 xr3i too lots, but the mk3 was just that bit beter looking, especially seeing it was lowered. And the xr3i was a bit of an untouchable then. Phoned hyperformance insurance for a qoute, found it in the back of max-power mag.. when i told them i was 17, the guy just laughed. Hell it cost me 800pound to insure my sri cavalier, so i had to find someone to insure that for me and add me as a second driver. The female sex loved that mk3 too... I would sell most of my possesions for another mk3, preferably blue, or sunbust red, the perfect summer cruising car. There was an a-reg in my town. Also 2 black y-regs, and a c-reg which belonged to a milf hair.dresser. The hot hatch has died a long time ago in my eyes. The crap they sell today, has left my to totally lose interest in cars. Topgear is shit too, more like some tof-nosed talk show, i think anyways. Bring back the 80s.

I would love my first XR3i back, A60 NNM. Got it when I was 19 in about '89. Saw it about 5 years later in Colchester Institute in an absolute state, was gutted. Sold it to get a Mk2 RS2000 which felt agricultural compared to the XR3i.

Loved the mk4 3i too, but mk3 3 is just that bit beter looking, less round edges, lower. Nothing nicer than a lowered mk3 with 15inch fod wheels, totally stunning. Was a lovely white turbo technics xr3i i my town with rs-bodykit, recaro and cossy rims. Escorts also cheap and cheerful to live with, except when mentioning the r--- word.
Me too, would pay silly money to get it back!! I love now as much as i did all those years ago.

Would love to get my old Mk 3 3i back but it's very unlikely as some thieving scum nicked it. It's strange how some people slag them off as most people who have owned one want it back once they have parted with it. My XR3i was probably the most troublesome car i have ever owned - i even borrowed my dad's Vauxhall Chavalier to go away on my honeymoon cos i couldn't trust my Escort but it's still the car that i would most like to have back.

I sold mine to one of my best mates for a stupidly low price !.Everycar I had he wanted to buy but never did so the low price was set and the twat turned up the next day with the cash I couldn't say no,a deals a deal.He then swapped with another one of my mates for an 86 4.2 manual series 3 Jag in cranberry with beige leather.I was well pissed because even to this day thats one car I still want
