Default Can't decide now, help/ideas needed please!

Well had my heart set on buying an E46 M3 or an Audi S4 Avant (B7), however having looked at a few of each over the last few weeks they just didnt do anything for me! The M3's were ok but all of them seem to either have a very shady history, or high miles or something just not quite right about them, and the S4's were just plain boring - quite a shame as i really thought i'd like them.

So back to the drawing board!! I looked at a CLK55 AMG merc at the weekend which I quite liked, and looking at another one this weekend, but my main worry is the cost of parts if / when they break!! No no to any Evo's or Skylines (insurance is a bit high as i've had a theft claim against me) and its got to be 'fairly practical' (ie - a boot of some discription!).

Budget is up to a max of 14k, would rather spend a little less and have a few k's to chuck into it.

HELP!!

Chris

I feel the same way as you about the S4 (and any quick Audi's to be honest), look impressive on paper, but they're just so dull compared to BMW!

What about a MK1 Focus RS? Could get a good one with a few k to chuck at it like you say, and shouldn't depreciate much, if at all.

Mike - it is strange as I thought the S4 would be a great all rounder, practical, quick etc etc... shame really!

Not really a fan of the Focus RS's to be honest. Quite fancy another 350Z but its the 2 seater thing which could become a pain!

E39 M5 or a UK-Spec Blobeye WRX or STi and plenty of change then are my only other suggestions.

Being a UK-Spec, the Scooby shouldn't be as harsh on insurance as Evo/Skyline imports, and is more comfortable and easier to live with.

Tiff / Ran - i've still got my Beetle V5 that I can use for the moment but its a case of money burning a hole in my pocket!!!! If i keep it the house will suck it up into something or other!!!!

Rhys - ive given up mate!! The SMG boxes frighten me and trying to find a decent non-black leathered one is impossible!!

Mike - scooby could be a thought but dont fancy being the clit gang!!!! I did look at an M5 on Saturday as well but thought it looked dated and not an awful lot different in looks to my old 530i sport!

Chris

Get the M3. Mine is the following spec

Facelift, Silver grey, black nappa leather (nice and understated, and quality.. however I know you are a bit of an essex chav at heart so guess you are after the red interior! ) , sat nav, bluetooth & harman kardon, SMG (dont be scared, it is THE TITS!)
genuine CSL wheels, WIDE rear rubber!, AP 6 pots up front AP 4 pots on rear. Also an intravee ipod adapter (shows all full names on sat nav screen etc) eibach springs

It is a tool and I think the above colour combo, with the csl wheels, AP;s and eiback springs.. makes it look HEAD and SHOULDERS above the rest!

It's a stunner

Id offer mine for sale as I am itching to buy something else, but would want more than your 14k budget im afraid

Ł9.5k gets you a 2003/2004 car with Prodrive Performance Package (305bhp). A lot of performance for the money, with sensible miles.
