Default coilovers, talk to me

i've decided that they are a requirement for the mondeo so who does them for the mk3 estate then?

or who can i ask to "test" some for to see if they are any good or not?

and who does them for the normal mondeo's?

I really dont see why you would want coilovers on your day to day road car.

If you do then make sure you use progressive springs or the ride will be properly harsh.

i've got a selection of vans to use plus the fiesta, the omndeo goes out possibly once a week, sometimes it dosen't move for a month, so i can have a little play around with it now

as long as it's useable and not a fire breathing monster and it's "civilised2 then i can pretty mush do whatever takes my fancy to it and the mrs nor the kids will mind

ok, the mrs will mind, but junir will love it and my daughters to young to notice anything different so she's fine too

as for coilovers, i don't want to have really stiff springs but how else will i get the correct ride hieght that i'm looking for without trying out dozens and ozens of spring kits?

the monde is notiriously difficul to lwoerer "properly" to get it to an even stance, dans dropped his on a set of psrings but now needs new rear shocks as he's got self leverling so it's a bit of a chance, not like doing it in a sierra wher everyone knows what to do and what to look out for and all the various pitfalls of droppnig it without doing the beam etc

besides, i asked before a while back and i'm still in a position where i "want" them, whereas before i "needed" them when my suspension fucked itself on a pot hole

If its for cosmetics you want it, then a set of coilovers will certainly allow you to get the heights the same front relative to back.
Although you could do that on just front coilovers only of course.

You'll ruin the ride on coilies dojj, they're almost always too hard for the road ( which will mean poor braking on bumpy surfaces )

i'm after ride height adjustment mainly, then it's everything else

i'm sure that changing the springs on a set of coilovers is going to be a much simpler endeavour than trying to change them on the normal suspension, simply beause i can go out and specify the strength of spring i require rather than ask for "-40mm drop please" and hope it works

i also want to do the whole bump/rebound thing so that i can get the car set up to be softly sprung, but firm enough to allow the front not to dive when i put the anchors out, same with the rear, i notice that there is too much squat, even with a might 92 pony's trampling the tarmac beneath my front tyres

i want to do it once, but do it right so that i don't need to fiddle with it time and again

the rears are starting to get tired so if i can find someone who does them then fine

anyone heard or used www.protechshocks.co.uk ?
