Default Best place to buy wossner pistons?

Im going to buy a set of wossner pistons for my YB build. Who sells them at the best price?
I seem to remember someone off PF could get them at good prices?

people have mixed feelings about woosner pistons what sort of power are u running ... if ur running in excess 400bhp id spend a decent bit of money on pistons such as wiseco or acralite pistons which are good for big power..

wossner pistons are really good they just need to be fitted in the correct way such as the rings are gapped correctly

We are running 2 race cars in excess of 400bhp for 2 years and never had any problems. I have built a good few engines for customers, and no problems either.

Wouldnt touch wossner after my experience.

there are a fair few others on here with that opinion too.

why not stick to tried and tested cosworth racing ones.

mate seriously theres nothing wrong with them people just fit them wrong so there is either server bore leakage or there to tight and lock the engine , so like ive said earlier bore to tolerance and gap the rings ok there great

i've known 2 people use them and both engines failed....but like said above they could have just been fitted wrong........anyway i'd use Mahle std cossie pistons for 200-600bhp and wouldn't be worried...............i've got a 500 spec bottom end with Mahles

I didnt think standard piston were much good past 400bhp? What are the cosworth racing pistons? Where can I get some? Going to be running about 450bhp.

The wiseco ones look like good value for money. You reckon these are good for around 450bhp maybe more?

there are loads of people using them in evo's and skylines @ 700 bhp and we have done two seat 20vt race cars up to 500 bhp with them

Rich, Im going for 450-500.
The main reason im changing pistons is for valve cut outs. I know I can get my current pistons machined but surely this weakens the piston abit? Id rather have pistons that can cope easily with the power, rather than the standard ones on their limit, which I would have thought they would be.

mahles will be fine at that level; although if you insist on different pistons, then use CP pistons

Mike,

4x4 mahles are fine for the power you want to go for, but if you really don't want them, then do as LHD suggests and use CP.

Its not the pistons its how and who fits them!!... i know few people who complain about acralite's cause of pistons slap! but like i said to them its not the pistons folt its the person who fitted them, not everyone who use's acralites gets slap!

i think half the problem with ppl and wossner pistons is you actually have to think about it when you fit them, gapping the rings by hand rather than just fit and forget. buy your pistons then take them to who ever is doing the rebore and get them to meassure the piston and then bore with clearance to match the piston rather than just going by "what it should be". done a few miles on mine now and a good few sessions on the dyno with no problems so far.
