He questioned why all his threads were the same and then called him a prick
Unless there was something else I missed on another thread that's why he was banned.

...trouble is the missus only has an auto license so she'd wanna drive that kinda car plus tbh if i am using it everyday i rather like autos or paddles at the very least...even my motorhome is the semi auto one!

Get an auto then ! They arent as bad as everyone makes out -for me i just found that it doesnt wanna shift down the box and quick as youd want it to and relying on the brakes all the time isnt advised as they do tend to fade after a bit of enthusiastic drving. so all in all imo the manual is far better drivers car ..... but horses for courses !
Just my 2 pennies worth!

Phil the tips are a good box that handle the power well and have been used at over 700 bhp. A mate of mine used his tip on track for a few years but has recently converted to manual as its now mainly just for track use .
Evo motorsport in the states are now doing an ecu upgrade to spped up the change on the tips that makes a big change, you can also buy steering wheels with paddles if you dont like the steering wheel toggle.

Too many posts.. I need a life!!
Please, PLEASE, PLEASE don't buy a 996 Turbo in Tip, it ruins a great car IMHO. You could go even worse and make it a Cabriolet to complete the ruining if you wish though.

...it actually amazes me that we have to have negative comments, surely if you dont like my posts or me even (which i would find bizarre!) why not ignore the thread/me or even put me on ignore in your control panel? Being abusive to another person via an internet screen is not big/clever, just makes you look a total arse, i say this with some experience so take heed or get banned, simple.
Infact to the person that said there was a post a while ago all about the 996, why not do something positive and post the link instead of acting the fool on the net? Dont know if you been living in a cave but i have only just come back here so unless this thread was made in the last week i didnt see or know about it sorry.
Anyway cheers for the advice looks like a no then.

Hi Phil. Personally I wouldnt buy a Tip... BUT I have driven Tips... and although they ARE only auto boxes (not robotised manuals or Dual clutch boxes) the box DOES kinda suit the STANDARD 996 Turbo very well....
Its NOT a mad sports car as standard. Its more of a GT car... so Tip box is ok if your wife needs one.
UBER UBER strong boxes. (I think its the same box as in your merc? will check to confirm.
They are great cars. Very strong and very fast and very classy. Much like your merc...
Once modded you can turn them into proper monsters... but as standard they make a nice everyday usable sportscar.
Probably a bit TOO similar to your Merc I would say... why not a Ferrari 360?
ALOT slower than the 911... but bit more special.
Hope that helps.
Cant decide if I am gonna keep mine or not when my Ferrari 430 arrives... I only drive ANY car probably once a month! so having alot seems a waste of money....

Porkie the 360 will go in the garage but i cant get out as my garage has an extended bit in the middle on both sides where the door opens, can just squeeze out of the merc...the only option was the spyder 360 but may be a bit stupid having to jump out of car!
