Oh sorry I didn't quite read DarylC's post properly. I agree with the fact that it probably would be better for the team's sake as I originally said but don't agree with the fact that it is because JT is a better player. I reckon he won't play anywhere near as well as he potentially can.

Fair play to him, at least he's stood up now and not left it last min,
It must be difficult to think your going into battle stood next to a guy you have zero respect for,
To play for your country you have to have the willing to put your heart on the line for each and every person involved, Bridge clearly doesnt have that heart for Terry.[/QUOTE]

I think people grossly under estimate the psychological effect it would have on the entire team and this would only be a negative in reality, it is very easy to sit on the fence and say he should grow up and be a man, JT should have been a man an said sorry publically,

Its very obvious from the replies on here that most of you have never lost/split up/had them cheat on you by someone you were very much in love with/had kids with, or if you have it was a very long time ago and have forgotten what it felt like.
Porkie, normally chap your right on the money, but seriously, regardless of the world cup, thats probably the last thing on Bridges mind.
Unfortunatly im about 3 weeks from going seperate ways with the woman/mother of my daughter who im madly in love with, but apparently doesnt love me anymore.
If I said I could concentrate and give 100% dedication on anything for longer than 5 seconds I would be lying.
If it was me, I would have done the same thing. Say he stayed, played and did a wank performance and lost England the chance to progress because his mind wasnt on the game no matter how hard he tried, wonder if you would slate him and say he should have fucked off before the tournament.

It is unberleivable how some people think life revolves around the world cup, wake up it is not everything to everybody, obviously he values his peace of mind and happiness far more than sitting on the bench in SA,
JT just strikes me as a slightly more mature chav then Shrek, as England Captain he has to except that he cant be a twat, it is resonable for the country to expect the Captain of their football team to behave, if he had the balls to publically say sorry l would have more respect for him the fucking coward

It's all well and good people telling him to man up and shit, but you're not feeling what he is feeling. People love to tell others what they should do, and what they would do, but unless you know how he's feeling you can't say, and I for one don't blame him.

Everthing I say is sensible... Makes me laugh all these 'Man it up' people. 'Yeah your Mum died last night, but you was supposed to fit my Kitchen this morning, so man it up and I'll see you around 10. Bring your Mum's kettle, it'll go nice with the new worktop!'

I think it's good that he's stood up and not gone. i'd have wanted to beat the shite out of him. Look at Scotland in the qualifiers...they had two players quit because they didn't like the manager/didn't get a game..thats a gay reason to quit the team!

2. bridge probably wouldnt be sitting on the bench as Cole is injured.
3. say sorry for what? i fucked your EX. i dont think so. only person should be sorry to is his own wife and kids and he's done that. for all we know he has said sorry to bridge. just cause it aint in the sun dont mean it happened. i couldnt give a toss about what he done. its not my bussiness and he aint the first to do it and wont be the last.

again people still dont get it it was his EX this didnt all happen last month the spliting up, JT banging her etc. this was a long time ago.
everyone has been cheated on or dumped at least once. you get on with it, it makes you stronger. he probably has done before. like i said im sure bridge has fucked more than most lying virgins on here in the past amount of months since he split with his EX anyway to get over it. so yes he should stop milking it and get the fuck on with it. he will probably have "why i quit england" in the sun next week or some bollox
not at all i dont think so. i think getting on with his life is better than letting everyone else crack on with theres. his EX is getting on with hers JT and his mrs is getting on with theres, england have a new captain.. so its all forward. except him. i think he has made a bad choice. why let some slut get the better of you. bridge probably wont even play at the weekend the way he seems to be going.

Rob, fucking nail on head dude!! Not saying its right, but all JT has done is what over half of the married population have done, cheated!! The sooner people get over it the better, how many people that have slated him are whiter than white and never made a mistake in there life?? Why shd he publically appologise, whose he gotta appologise to, the English community?? Like fuck, he has to appologise to his missus and kids, and possibly Bridgey, but only because they were mates, he is the wrong but why does he owe this country a appology??
Listening to talksport thsi morning, Andy Townsend has said that his been in football teams where he has hated another player, 'ive been in teams where i cant stand the sight of some people, but were professionals, when you cross that white line, nothing matters'
Hell, im my sunday league team there was sum Tottenham fan cunt that thought he was the bollox, but 90% of the team couldnt stand him, we didnt socialise with him, he wasnt invited out on piss ups, yet when we played we played as a TEAM!!!

why go to the world cup and spend a month of your life with someone you dont like and make the squad divided and team meeting/dinners/training etc awkward for the rest of the squad members, and top it off with prbably not even getting any game time out there.
imo bridge has made the right decision overall. to be successful in a football team everyone has to have the respect of EVERYONE on that team, and clearly bridge wouldnt have respect for terry and no one can blame him. and because terry is in the first eleven and bridge is not, terry gets the green light to carry on and gets the armband took off him (which anyone who knows anything about football means fuck all as there are 5 or 6 captains in the england team and they all use this as an advantage on the pitch, they just dont walk the team on the pitch) but what if he'd stuck one up rooney or gerrards missus and they deemed their position in the squad untenable, would terry get off as lightly as he has done.

By pulling out of contention he IS harming our World Cup hopes, Capello is now not able to pick the team that HE wants, he will be forced to try a new left-back against Egypt, and there is the chance that were going to go to a World Cup with a left that has very little or no European expierence either at club level or International!! Bridgey should have at least given it a go, spoke to Capello over the weekend, see how the game tomorrow goes, see how the first few days training go next week!! Capello aint no mug, he would have been able to see if Bridgey was up for it, Capello still wants Bridge to go, i guess he also knows nothing about football!!!

as said above can you imagine the atmosphere/akwardness with WB and JT been together not just for them to but the rest of the team your telling me it would be a positive team rather then negative??
not only that but wayne bridge is nothing special anyway and could easily be replaced by the likes of - baines, konchesky, warnock, barry, lescott who would all do the same role just as well if not better

There professional footballers, i understand that there might be some tension between the two of them, but he hasnt even given it a go, his held his hands up and admitted his beaten, is that English spirit?? You cant say whether having Bridgey in the squad would have a positive or negative effect, as it hasnt happened, BUT there is a friendly next week, where he could have joined up with the lads and seen what happened!!
As for the other candidates, you cant play Barry there, you'd miss him in midfield too much, plus he aint a natural left back!! The others are good on there day, but if they were that good they would have been in the squad long ago (bar Elephant man, his been there a while but is naturally a centre half) and none of the others have continued Champions League expierence or any expierence with England

After reading the statement Bridge has said that his inclusion could cause a split in the dressing room, Obviously he has zero time or respect for Terry and he does not want his teammates to pick sides by buddying up with either him or Terry, which due to the difficultness of situation and time spent away together could happen,
Decision clearly made for dressing room unity.
But, should Terry become injured and be ruled out of the World Cup then the way the statement is worded Bridge may put himself up for inclusion.
It takes more of a man to rule himself out of the greatest football tournament in the world for the sake of the team, this way there will be no media shitstirring on the subject should things not go Englands way.

I think he's better than the nothing special players youve mentioned, personally I think Bridge is head and shoulders the 2nd best left back England had/have got behind Cole.

let me guess you support his team? as a neutral on the metter i would say hes no better then anyone else i mentioned....

if england do have a left back problem at the time of pickin the final squad then for the sake of the togetherness of the squad terry has to be dropped, and he cant blame no one but himself if capello does that but we all know he wont unless he fucks rooneys missus. there are plenty of good english center halves out there. yes terrys good i aint gonna dispute that but for what hes done to team spirit in that camp he should be nowhere near it and if it was a more valuble player he'd be on the podium in some conference centre like tiger woods was grovelling to the public for forgiveness. capello bottled it as bridge aint his first choice and that will be his downfall as manager but bridge will be made the scapegoat cos the so called "england" fans like some on this thread will be naive enough to pin the blame on someone who was not on the pitch in south africa over someone who with their "english spirit" lost the game cos they werent as good as the opposition on that day.
i really hope england win the world cup for wayne bridges sake, it will prove he was right to do what he did when he did it. if we dont win it and he becomes the scapegoat, he seems a down to earth, shy, level headed guy but id be very worried for him as i reckon he could be hanging from the ceiling one morning....
