Default Anyone clued up on Northern Irish cars?

There are a couple of cars in Northern Ireland that I'm interested in, but I know it's not as easy as going over and driving it home. I keep hearing different story's and I can't make much sense of anything I find on the 'net.

Has anyone bought an Irish car and know exactly what needs to be done?

Cheers

It is as easy as coming over buying it and driving it home-no different than buying
a car from anywhere else on the mainland

Cheers Sean.......

Stoo,

my parents are from Northern Ireland so over the years my dad has imported cars from Northern Ireland and Southern Ireland - know the general way of things if you need some advice.

What cars are you looking at? Is the golf going?

Thanks mate, I'm not going for either of those cars now, there were a couple of wee things put me off. Golf would be staying for now. I'm considering an E46 M3 but I'm not so sure now. Seems a bit of a silly purchase just for me to drive to my work and back, I think I'm getting sensible in my old age!..

I was eyeing up a few M3's in NI too a couple of weeks back. Good couple of grand to be saved on well-spec'd facelifts.

No worries - I can see your point about not buying one that would just be used for going to work and back. Would you consider buying one as a second car, or are the days of that finished for you now? Cars are expensive hobbies at the best of times

PS your only coming up on 40, still life in you yet Stoo
