Right, been having this problem on and off for a month or so. The oil light comes on whilst driving, doesn't come on straight away, but it wont go out until you cut the ignition, start up and it comes back after a few minutes. I've checked the level, and its showing just under the max mark on the dipstick. So, any ideas what it could be? a rogue sensor playing up somewhere? Its a 2.2 TDCi if it makes any difference.

could allways be low oil pressure, get it checked out, could just be a crap oil filter or blocked retun etc

is there any way I can find that out, I dont tend to do much to the car myself, usually leave it to a local garage, but being a bit short of cash at the min if I can sort it myself I'll have a go.

do the cheap stuff first; try a new oil pressure switch and check wiring to it

also might be worth sticking it on a decent scanner to check for any fault codes
