help escort gti non starter!
hi to anyone that can help, i have just made the daily trip to the shops, but came home without the car! i have an escort gti r-reg, which i havnt had any problems with in last 5 months till now, came out of the bookies got in the car and it didnt start, battery light stays on? but all the electrics seems fine wipers windows lights ect, it has fuel in, and it sounds asif it wants to go, but just wont start?
any help tips or ideas would be great

i had the same problem on my mk5 xr3i ages ago, sometimes it would work fine, then others it would just not start, it would turn fine but just not start.
it turned out to be the fuel pump relay on mine. its located under the steering wheel u pull a cover off to get to it. easy to change and costs about a tenner.

Know exactly what your saying there, have a similar thread "grrrrrrrrrrrr!" goin on at the mo!
Im leaning towards the battery...have you tried to jump start it!?

Fuel pump relay would be this first thing to check as mentioned above, they are also known for problems inside the fuse boxes causing all sorts of faults !!

I had this problem, the imobiliser lights was flashing or staying on, turned out it was a broken wire to the imobiliser, used to work if parked on a hill facing downwards
