Selling a car that has had a remap
What do you guys think, if say i was going to sell the TT (hypothetical question!) would you put on the ad its been remapped to xxxbhp or would this put folk off? Or would you just not mention it? Or put it back to std?
Like with my Merc although its only done 28000 miles i think i'd want to be an un modded version myself and then get it modded
Does it affect the price? (Not talking cossies as i think its a deffo plus as they are then worth more to break!)

it depends on how you word the ad imo, if you write things like
Remapped for an extra 50 bhp, now fast as fuck you wont get no calls.
if you word more like
remapped ecu this has improved fuel economy and improves on audis original ecu software although can be returned to original easily if you please
get my drift

With a diesel car people remap them for economy very often, but with a petrol car almost exclusively the reason I see people get them mapped is to improve performance (mainly cause its not normally possible to make any decent improvement in economy by remapping a petrol in the first place)
So with a petrol car for sale that is chipped, it hints that its been ragged too.
so i would remove it or leave it on but not mention it on the ad

I know but regardless of what car it is, These cars had a huge demand when they first came out and all sorts of people buy them from people that want to modify them, too people that in my opinion are the majority, that will leave them un touched.
For instance when i got my leon i looked at ones that were untouched for piece of mind. Im not saying everyone feels the same, just my opinion.

I'd remove the remap and say nothing or leave it on and say nothing. Although it's fine to remap them a lot of people see any form of modification as being the Devils own work and as such completely evil and won't even pick the phone up and call you about it.

Are you know an EVOChips dealer? Just seems to have been hinted at in a few posts?
Easy way is to remove it and then when the buyer turns up offer them the service of remapping it.
Double win that way

Maybe it's just me, but mention it due to insurance reasons. A standard car would cost less than a remapped car, so whoever is looking at the ads need to know so they can check with their insurance for prices.
