Which Arcade Racing Game ? ? ?
A bit of a blast from the past here!
but which racing arcade games to you remember. heres my top 5 in no particular order
1. Hard Drivin' an ancient simulator but hilarious fun with loop to loops and big bridges to jump. car actually handled quite realistically and you had to use the clutch. good for teaching you to drive when your 6 years old!
2. Daytona USA. after watching days of thunder your probably looking for a daytona usa machine. v8 noise was addictive and you could get up to 8 machines linked up.
3. Sega Rally. Probably be most popular on any other forum but it didnt have a ford. just a celica and an integrale. always had to go the delta!
4. Club GTI. always enjoy a good hand brake turn. dont remember much but did play it a lot with its renault 4 turbo thing!
5. Ferrari F355 challenge. used to skip high school for this one. 3 screens, 6 speed box, proper clutch and ferrari racing, come on! excellent driving simulator, real handling but could only drive the monza track, the rest were too hard.

Chase HQ or something like that? it was old and abit like outrun style except you had to catch up and chase a car infront and keep hitting it reducing a gauge in the middle of the screen, eventually if you were successful the car would blow up/stop

Edit - Spyhunter was a 2D from above but you had to chase cars and crash into them to blow them up.

What were the two tunes you could select in Outrun, one was Cool breeze iirc?
Loved Outrun, probably spent more on that than any other arcade machine, I always took the same route and could complete it every time. It was an expensive game to play when it first came out, was like 50p ago up Southend which was a lot compared to Pacman at 20p.

Daytona...
I used to have a dreamcast or whatever it was callled and practiced more than beginner so we all played on expert or medium at the arcade...
You could actually powerslide the cars really well on the other tracks...
