Not sure what to think
On one hand it looks pretty good, no wanky bodykits and neons, it would be good fun to have a fast hot hatch again.
On the other hand, its a nova, doesnt have any credibility or saught-afterness (is that a real word? lol) and wont be worth fuck all in afew years...
He said its got a 3k engine conversion from Courtenay, so im guessing its not a standard red top.

Discuss.

Get it!

awesome bt of fun been in a few & drivin a em!

for 3k i wouldnt expect to much from the enigne! as courtney r robbin coonts & probably charged that just for fittin it! all though it means its done very well with proper shafts etc.!

those wheels r the tits aswell! very saught after! the only wheels that should b fitted to a vauxhall in IMO espically Novas!

ger rid of chav lights & u got a gr8 lil sleeper there!

Iv got a turbocharged 16v astra jst now an what a crock of shit. its a courtenay conversion. was done from new. they have put turbo on standard red top with standard management. standard fuel pump. its been through a few owners in the area and its had numerous sets of pistons cause it keeps melting them. dont rate courtenay at all.

I know, id want 2k realistically. The chances of me doing it are about 1% anyway LOL

Just read this on mig, is there any truth in it?
A 2 liter 16v corsa/nova will be quicker than most 250 turbo cars and 200 bhp N/A cars

Get it mate.

Nicely done subtle and clean Nova's are few and far between now. Might be worth popping onto www.migweb.co.uk to see if the chaps there know the car

mate of mine does the conversions he came out in a corsa withe 2.0l 16V but it had throtle bodies too. Was boasting to everyone he was going too eat my poxy RST

anyway we finaly met up i missed 2nd gear and he went too undertake me but once i was in gear it not only beat him but left him by a long way by the time i was in 5th gear. i was only running 12 PSI too

he admited defeat though

then brought his V6 corsa out but havn't compared yet

The V6 isn't that quick in all honesty. A very good friend of mine built a V6 Vectra powered Astra GSi and while it went well and felt quick when I raced him in the 2i he only edged away from me. It was definately quicker than the 2i but not earth shatteringly slow. TBH I would have expected the XE powered car to be quicker than the V6 powered one.

Quite impressive times. Even more so as it was wet. Good on him Conversion looks quite tidy from what you can see in the piccies. Not my cup of tea but respect due none the less.

Mate had his GSi in Total Vauxhall as well but I don't have any images as I don't buy the mag

a ford runs a pcd of 108mm and a corsa 100mm

they could not be modded to be different without having MASSIVE stud holes this would be sooo unstable

I can't understand why this is even being discussed!

You think owning a Ford is bad, but you want to take a step backwards!

Like others have said, I'd have the car for fun, but would never swap it for the cossie.

My best pal built one back in '92 and when I got my 1st EsCos I was gutted as his Nova was faster esp in the midrange. After a trip to GGR for their 335 conversion (lovely exhaust note from the GGR pipe!) I could pull about 20 yeards on him once we were rolling or 100 from a standing start.
My pal fitted twin 45s/BTB full exhaust/MBE black box and he then had a slight advantage except from a standing start. I then had a 420 conversion done and that was then end of the pesky Nova!
My pal then built an EDS stage 3.5 turboed Astra 16v mk2 and that was incredible (169mph on the GPS) and sadly I had to sell my EsCos due to business commitments. Its taken me 12 years but I have converted him back to Ford and he now runs a 360bhp Saff that wastes my latest 305 bhp GGR small turbo but after Neil at Carwise has finished his magic on my car he will be history!

You can't beat Phase 3.5 LET Conversions!

Mine managed to beat Gus down a duel carrageway, though his car wasn't quite running 100% it wasn't far off.

Loads of fun to be had out of XE's and LET's, but I would not value the Nova at more than £2500 IMO.

Standard 2litre 16v novas arnt fast in a striaght line at all. They shit in fact. They not loads lighter than a RST and they 160bhp.

Used to be 2 around here.

We used to go past chinky daves one like he wasnt moving on our old GTTs

i really like them. I would do it TBH. With a cam change and engine management/carbs, you cang get 200hp out of one pretty easily. There is a Nova around where i live with a vectra v6 in it, and when it comes down to the local cruise, it just spins the wheels cos it's soo torqy, but is very rapid though.
