Not totally written off an alloy, but did a tyre in the Golf a couple of years back. Tyre was badly egged (after having been on the car for just over a week from new) and the alloy needed an extra 20oz on it to balance it.

Yorkshire Water paid out for it as it was one of their drain covers that had sunk that had caused the hole.

Not done any tyres or wheels ( touch wood ) since I moved down to 17"s instead of the old 18"s as the tyre profile provides better protection.
The 18's were on 225 / 35's iirc.

Dented and chipped a fair few wheels. Snapped a spring on my Fiesta turbo a good few years back.

Its not really the councils fault this time, lol.
Yes there shit at reapairng stuff in general, but you cant hold repsonsible for the amount of damage to the roads as its the severe weather killing the roads, everyones putting claims into the council for wheels, tyres and suspension etc.
This time next year, those same people will be moaning again becuase the council tax has gone up..... again!

I split a tire on my work van on Monday! Got 18" Sportlines so that wasnt too cheap. I also did one on my mondeo st and one on a primera gt a while back. The St tire burst which was a little scary
