hi all wondered if any 1 could help i have a E reg xr3i cabriolet the fuel pump is very loud n wen driving it spluters like mad n allso cuts out but the thing is this is the third pump in 6 months has any ome got any ideas why it keeps doing this its the mfi engine with the external pump..... thanks people HELPn if any 1 knows were i can get any more fuel pumps or relays <the pink ones> please could u let me know

 

Is your tank full of shite that is killing the pumps?

 

had the tank off n cleaned it out its driving me mad

yep its all good .. could the relay course all these probs .. its the pink 1 ???

 

Relay wouldn't kill the pumps i wouldnt have thought (would cause spluttering etc tho if on its last legs)... anyway i would have thought if you'd gone to the trouble of doing voltage tests, you would have tested the relay

 

wen i put the last pump on the relay was fine but looked at it the other day n it was hot as fuck n my tester is broke at the min so i cant check it

 

have you changed the fuel filter recently??
If this is full of crap then id imagine it would be a problem getting fuel through also could burn out the pink relay, id think.
