p100 andy

Hi , new to this site, after some info bout a project iam working on, a p100 with 4x4 running gear , currently running with a 2.8 , have a 2.9 with a TT twin turbo set up i want to drop in. Have stripped the engine and need new pistons , what i would like some advice on is should i pay out for pistons , £800 , rebore etc, i hadnt planed on that expense, thought pistons would be lot cheaper , is it possible to fit differant , ie, cheaper pistons ? maybe look for another lump ? junk the lot and buy a smartcar !! , anyone got parts for sale ? anyone want to buy twin TT parts ?

the 24v with a zaust an remap will make more power the the 12v turbo. and itl be alot chaeper. get some pics up of the p100 pal.

no it won't

first up, post a picture of the insides of the heads to see what you've got, then you can consider what you want to do next

money wise, dropping in a 24V lump and finding a suitable box is the easiest and cheapest way to do thigns

if you want to stick with the tt 12v engine then you've got to spend some money and i will need some serious cooling products as they run very hot even running a low boost set up pushing 6 psi

i think i saw 14 psi with mine at one point but ran with a road max of about 9 spi, was plenty enough but the torque ended up killing the boxes fairly regulalry

whatever you stick into the engine bay, the type 9 isn't going to take much more than about 200 brake, which is probably what the 24v will push out even in standard form

go and have a look at the skogenracing.com they run stock engines with a gt40 turbo and pushing around 400bhp i have a t/t and if i was going to start again thats the way i would have gone

u can get 250bhp easy.
u can get the 12v's up to like 400brake but u know that the 24v will sound better and will be cheaper to get to the same power. also will be worth more.

been doing it for years mate, even got so far as getting tt to offer to retool their business if i cold get 10 peole willing to by the kit's, but they didn't at the time so they withdrew the offer

had 351 brake out of my twin 12v and it was plenty fast enough to embaress lots of supposedly faster cars

not really had the 24v twin's out for a decent run ut it was plenty pokey so it's not that it's not as good, but you don't get a lot of them
