+Update on Beds Track Day / Show+
#201
steve,
looks like you will have a lot of track passes left
as not many people will do a track day on there own,
you seem to have shot yourselfs in the foot a bit by selling pit/passenger passes to people who do not have a car there,
at national day, you get a couple of pit passes with your track pass once you sign on,
your show will have loads of people in the pitts just to watch and blag a ride
the idea of pit passes is so the general public are not in the pits, so you can safely leave all your stuff there like tools and wheels ect,
with your system, if they did that at national day ect, the pits would be full!
did knowone think to only sell pitt/passenger passes to people who are doing the track day with there car,
a simply system would have been to allow two per car, and then sell the spares.
27 track passes=£2160
pit passes @ £5 each looks like this will cost you in the long run.
spoke to the other two guys for track day,and they will not bother if they.
A CAN NOT GET A PASSENER IN THERE OWN CAR
B CAN NOT GET IN THE PITTS
whot you need now is 27 people who do track days with no mates!
sorry if i am a bit negative, but most people do not know if there cars ready to last minute,
and now looks like you have not sold another three track passes.

I do know what you mean but the rules at Bedford are so strict on the amount of people that are allowed in the site it was a case of needs must i'm affraid.
Less than 2 weeks ago we were £2000 short of the price that it has cost us to attend so it has been a case of take the money or I would have to find £3000 to pay all the people back as we had paid the deposit if the day had got cancelled....
At the end of the day we started this whole project without a penny in the bank and its now been completely paid for....
We had to raise cash fast and managed that so if we have 27 places left so be it, the day is paid for in full now so any money that is generated now is an added bonus (we haven't gone out to make a profit out of the day) the idea was to have a budget track day at a decent venue (I bet theres no one else that would offer such a cheap track day at Bedford)
Like I said when it comes down to it IF we have track spaces left I will sell them as pit passes..... the only bonus I see of doing this is that there will be less track cars there so running an open pit lane system will be easier (50 cars on track at any 1 time, full GT circuit is used 3.7 miles)
And with National Day they have the money in the bank to pay for the day upfront if need be and there are more tha 3 people organising the day...... They also have done it many times, this is our 1st attempt and we WILL make mistakes some of which I already know of and WILL change for next year if we bother doing it...

Its a lot harder than you'd expect trying to organise something like this with only 3 people envolved.....
The amount of times we've said "fuck it its just not worth the hastle".......lol
Hopefully it'll be a good day and not too many problems on the day

Im back!!!!!!!!!!!!!! lol
Right, i've only been home for about an hour, but I can confirm I have had cheques from the following since ive been away (Ish I put a note up that I got yours):
Anthony Fessey x 2
Ballin x 1
Im not back at work till Friday (providing all goes well having my stiches out tmoz) so i'll send all remaining general entry passes out then.
I need to catch up with Gemma & Steve tomorrow to confirm, but it would appear that there are now NO GENERAL ENTRY PASSES LEFT!!!!.
And im a little peeved to read some of the comments above on how we should have organised this event.
Im all ears to hear of a better way of selling Passenger passes when you are allowed no more than 150 people in the pit lane, 100 of those being Track Drivers............... so how do you fairly split 50 passenger passes between 100 people who all have equal right as the next driver.
I'll tell you how........... by selling them on a first come, first served basis.
This event has been organised since the middle of last summer, it was clearly stated that places will be limited and no we didnt expect to sell out before the day (we actually expected to be desperatly trying to sell everything the week b4 the event). So many people told us that it wouldn't be very popular because it's in Feb, and we do listen to people you know, if you lot tell us there's not going to be a big take up on people buying passes we actually believe you............ and now we've sold out (except track passes altho they are selling very quickly too and there aren't many left) a month before the event lol
We are sorry that people have been disappointed as they have left it too late to buy tickets but that's the way the cookie crumbles. As Steve said, we're not doing this event to make a profit, and we aren't getting paid to do what we do so quite frankly we're sorry but that's the most sympathy we can offer.
Rant over, need sleep, will update tmoz

You can have a tantrum on the internet and post like a keyboard warrior all you like but its not going to change anything, our hands are tied.
Its so true what all the other RS groups who have done shows told us at the start, you're never gonna please everyone, there will still be people who think they have the right to demand things from you because they think they are more important than everyone else.
Anyway, I cant wait for Feb 19th to arrive, cos not only will all this work be worth it, but those who are attending are gonna have a top day and really enjoy themselves at one of the best track venues the UK has to offer

BIG UP to ALL the organisers, you have done a great job!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I agree there is no fairer way to distribute tickets than on a first come first served basis.
If people think they can do a better job, then perhaps they should get up off there arses and help out!!!!

No probs Keith we all know how useless you are
I have just spoken to Pete4x4, he has apologised for his post
It has been hard on myself, Steve and Clare, all we wanted is to have a good cheap track day, which i hope is what will happen, we have very strict rules to follow and cant do anything thing about this

Well done to all those organising the day
Also well said Clare, if you don't like it and don't want to meet new people then don't bother coming cos I know that all that will be there will probably have the best car related day of the year

well done for organising what is gonna be a cool day, for the price i think its a bargin and the reason i aint got a passenger pass is cause i left it too late, my fault not steves or gemmas or clairs, they were very clear on the costs etc on numerous posts.
BTW steve now that you aint got your cossie, if you fancy a blast round track your more than welcome to take mine out for a few laps
