pc help...just a quick n
i've got a windows 7 upgrade (from Vista) for my laptop......will it go in my pc aswell (XP)....or is it just to use on my laptop...cheers Pete

it should work.. but you'll probably have problems with activating it unless you're planning to use a hooky method.

Surely this won't work unless you have an activation key for each machine you want to install it on? I'd have thought that was obvious?

precisely.. meaning the hooky method - there are tools on the interent that effectively bypass the requirement for a valid/individual activation key.

You don't have to try the hooky method. If you install it on your pc and then ring the number on the disc case they will give you an activation code, this only works two or three times though so it's no good trying to give it to all your friends and family, we have it on our pc laptop and office unit.

When you ring if the op. gets all ten questions just tell them the first computer it was on is broken down and it's now going on your new one. No problems.

There is no upgrade path from XP to Win 7. You would have to do a clean install of Win 7 on the XP machine.
