my mk1 escort needs some engine decisions
Aye up
ok i had some time off work and after watching family guy for 8 hours i decided to do something more challenging ( not that watching family guy isnt challenging) so i pulled my mk1 escort out of the garage and decided to clean the engine a bit which then turned into me buying an engine crane and taking the engine out so now it needs something more wizzy. so my question is what engine+gearbox = what mods to do this ideally i was just going to put a 2.0 pinto in it with a 5 speed type 9 box but how easy is this to do? do i need any mods apart from the prop?
so put your ideas down cheers

2 ltr pinto will go straight in on standard rs2000 engine mounts as will a type 9 box you can just buy a rs 2000 single piece prop i built a mk2 but im 99 percent sure its all the same i fitted a world cup cross member for extra strength and a bigger trans tunnel just in case of future mods also fitted anti tramp bars on the rear but should of five linked it here are a few pics

thats a nice car i do like the idea of the 2.0 pinto. i did want to twin cam it like retro ford are doing but im doing this on my driveway as i decided it gives me more of an incentive. but anyway now im on the look out for a 2.0 pinto and gearbox. anyone selling?

I've found that life I needed.. It's HERE!!
try a 180sx engine and box or an sr20det out of a 200sx, super cheap and reliable power, or a non turbo rotary engine? 240 brake and rev to around 11k with the right mods
