Default Siemens injectors low/high imp

Im wanting to fit siemens 55lb injectors to my stg 3 cossie what does impedance mean and what is the difference between high and low impedance?

Impedance, means sort of resistance in easy terms.
High impedance injectors put in place of a ecu that runs low impedance ones normally will have a much harder job to run these and might damage the ecu.
A ecu that needs high then used with low is likely to overheat the injectors(don't ask me how I know!!)
Low are around 2-5 ohm, high around 12-15 ohm, roughly.

ummm didnt know that,so how do u determine which ones u have pust a tester on the injector plug?

just been reading up on mine i use mjy100460 injectors the are 15.6 ohm high impedance and a flow rate of 480cc i got them out of a rover vitesse 30 quid i think i payed for all 6 of mine

you would have to try and find out what injectors are in urs now and then find out if they are high or low impedance i guess

for a cossie, you need low imp 2.8ohms

That flow rate sounds high, was it a Vitesse as in V8?

Checking for impedance is very easy, just use a multi meter.

As above just test a std one, then get whatever sort you need, if you need high but have low, you can always use a resistor in the earth line to make it high impedance.

These are the ones for your cosworth if you are still running on Weber OE management.

i have cheked them out i was supprised when i found out abd had the car mapped the other week and no probs there,they also use them in the mini mpi and a few other cars http://www.theminiforum.co.uk/forums...p/t107172.html
