Default how many hours would 40GB last?

with bt unlimited at moment and its up again this month to £39 just for net and line rental.
so been looking around and talk-talk recomended there 40GB package.but im not clued up on computers and neither was the saleswoman.
i understand diffrent pages use diffrent amounts so for arguments sake a mix of everything.
internets on allday but maybe 1-2hrs a day average actually browsing.

i dont see the point paying extra if i aint using anywhere near say the 40gb and talk-talks line rental is cheaper from bt than bt can do it and faster down/upload speed.

If you're only browsing then you'll never use 40gb in a month.

But if you're chugging over porn for hours on end you might.

Just as an example: I used to have a 10gb(or there abouts) package.

Did quite a bit of chugging but only used about 15-20gb extra per month. So 40 should be fine!

As above 40gb is huge, just surfing would be impossible to use that much.

It's not to do with how many hours, but to do with HOW MUCH you download.

So it depends on how much stuff you download, i.e. music, games, isos, etc. The bigger files it is, the more it will use up your allowance over the time.

I dont down load music but watch the occasional video in u tube etc, i would say i use the internet between 2-4 hours everyday (on average) and i use 15gb 28 days.
Maye this will give you an indication, of how much you might use.

Not really.

You could be on Passionford for one hour and it could have sucked up 200MB (not actual figure)

Then you could be on a Flash game website for one hour, it won't be 200MB, it will be more than that.

So by measuring bandwidth with number of hours can't work. It's to do with how much you download/upload from each different website. That will give you more realistic figure.

Unlimited generally means that. there will be a fair use policy though. If you download say 50GB per day, everyday, and you were letting that download run at peak times then they will email you or call you, to inform you that you are being unreasonable. However, they wont just cut you off, kick your door down or anyhting like that

In my house i have one account with 25 gn and another with 15gb and we use it with ease, but then again we have 3 computers continuously running.. a laptop and 2 ps3's occasionally and also 2 iphones running on wifi. So if its just you that uses it then you wont need no where near 40gb

thats the package i'm on, i'm on the net browsing a lot, i download music/ movies occasionally, and i've never had any problems with going over the limit.

download speeds are ok, nothing great but quick enough.

there customer service is ok as well, i've had a couple of problems in the past 3 or 4 years, once you get passed the monkeys that cover the first stage and talk to someone thats clued up, things tend to get sorted pretty quick.
