Default Data Recovery....Laptop HardDrive Please help!

Ok My mates laptop wont boot, Appears to be loads of corrupt sectors... and bits missing... Windows repair wont work.

Now I have taken the laptop harddrive out and put it in my Pc (Sata), Windows recognises it and it appears in my computer, but as soon as I try to access it it freezes. So my question is is there any special knack to accessing anything on it? is there a good data recovery program to get? trouble is its got lots of valuable pics of his Kid on it so I'd like to recover if i can!

Many Thanks in advance!

Adam

put in watertight bag in freezer for until cool to touch, then quick as u can re conect to ur pc, this may buy you some time, but make sure bag is air free and tight, and dont let it get to cold, just cool is enuff, this sometimes work
