Iphones - Does the novelty wear off?
#81
............
That was my opinion untill I had one
It can be very usefull once you've got some good apps on it ( free ones )
I wouldnt have one as my only phone if I spent all day on it for work but as a personal phone I wouldnt swap it for anything else yet
And I hate Apple

Ive had one since the 3g was launched. It really is the tits. And I am the worst for impulse buying the newest thing out! It will never get old!
sayign that... it spurred me on to buying an iMac, time capsule, airport express, mac mini, apple tv.. and soon an ipad
i am SUCH an apple whore child!

Not got bored of mine.
Love the hater comments. It's one of those things that you either get or you don't. If you just want a phone, then get something else. But if you want a phone that does lots of other stuff, and is an iPod, and internet browser, and games machine etc etc, then you won't go wrong with one.

Love mine... but as Chip said, Its a toy or a life style accessory... crap as a phone! Will always let you down when you REALLY need it.
Crap battery as well... and reception.
Pros like me ALWAYS carry an Iphone 3GS... AND a Blackberry Bold 9700.

Agreed, its a very cool device for just downloading random games or apps or music onto etc, so its a really useful "lifestyle accessory", and I mean that as more than just a fashion thing, I use mine for lots of things, the only thing i dont use it for is relying on as a phone, I still have my normal phone as well that I know will always have charge etc.
I use it for personal and work emails, and can't imagine why I'd need another phone to do anything else. Sure there are niggles - no Flash Player, no shortcut to turn Bluetooth on etc, but on the whole it's fucking ace!

Mine will only last a few hours call time between charges, and only manage a couple of days on standby.
Sometimes when im out of office I need to make more than a few hours of calls, and if im away on business I dont want to have to remember a phone charger to take with me when im only going for a couple of days, Ive got an older nokia that lasts for about a week between charges that I use as my main phone instead, and just use the iPhone for all the other stuff.
Signal is also worse on the iPhone than on my HTC on the same network, there are various places that I had signal before that I dont now, and I havent changed network.
