honest car dealers?
i was fairly intrested in this
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/2001-Ford-Mond...item5ad565bc72
but seems a bit cheap considering its from a dealer and its been for sale for months
ive emailed him asking for milage on the car but he replies and dodges around telling exactly what milage is
the photo clearly misses out the drivers seat bolster etc
everyone should bombard them with emails asking milage and see if they will let anyone know,as no way id travel that distance for it to have 200k on it

Didn't think they did a Zetec S on a 2.5
Plus later spec ST syle bumpers
Wheels are from wrong year
Back seat is clearly stained to fuck.
Gotta be honest though - scotland to brum for a 2k car... why????

Yeah doesn't look that good to be fair. I would be asking why all the seats appear to be water marked, is it from Cockermouth?

yep the early mondeo 3's were 2.5, it was in the ghia x's zetec s mainly, after the st220 come out it changed to a 3ltr v6
they are the correct zetec s bumpers
the wheels are correct year (although they may be off the ghia x model, cant remember what one come on a zetec s)
all the seats are stained, if you go to look at it check the boot carpet and under the floor tag if they are stained as well dirty it could have been a flood damaged,
but i wouldnt miss the milage out on a car i was selling, does sound a bit suspect and i am a car dealer of sorts (mainly do damaged repaired cars and salvage) and i am very honest about what the cars are, i am guessing that the milage will be sky high and these engines arent bad but they do go if not looked after
i wouldnt go view a car without knowing the milage if i was in your shoes

The only explanation I have is that it might be a "dog bus". Look at the seats. Stains everywhere. There's a good chance the interieur smells terrible, hence the cheap price.

always the way when the milage is high in a dealer, looked at a Gsi Vectra on autotrader, no milage on the add rings him and it had 130k on a Y plate.

Zetec s had both sets of alloys over the years some had the option when new what they wanted
Not many have the wheel arch lip fitted and were exspensiveto buy aswell
Seats have worked and so has the steering wheel so suspect high miles
Would pay anymore than Ł1300 for that tbh

the dealer has put 2 telephone numbers on the add, why dont you just ring??
i know a few dealers and they all say the same thing, the people that email are normally the time wasters who have no intention of buying. just ring the number, simple if you ask me

i mean this in the nicest possible way, but i really dont understand why people email for a car when they are interested.

Just ring the number. Most dealers know that if people cant be arsed to ring them and choose to ask quaetions over a few emails instead, most of them are messers. It doesnt mean he is dishonest.
Ring him and then he has to tell you the mileage. Simple really.

the thing is,of course id phone to find out all details about car but one quick question to answer(milage) by email aint asking much as i wouldny want to waste mine and his time phoning if its got really high milage
its an internet advertised car so why not respond? it could have 70k miles and id of been intrested

fukn hell as i said above id rather a basic response/answer to 1 question ie milage before i waste my time phoning and getting the big sales pitch
if the milage is high i wont waste the guys time phoning, its not like i was asking for a list of scratches and dents
i read the whole advert

I hear what your saying about telling you the mileage, he should just say, but its wasting time sending emails backwards and forwards when it could all be solved in 1 minute via a phone call.
Ive never once sold a vehicle that was initiated from an email.
And with cheap cars like this, mileage is just a number anyway. Buy on condition and service history, whether its done 200k or 20k.
To be honest though, it deosnt really look that cheap anyway, regardless of the mileage.

i agree ive been messed about with emails but at same time ive had a few ligit people when selling cars
but to answer 1 simple question thats mportant as that, probably the most important question when buying a car surely typing 3 digits isnt a big ask
and they are actually fairly rare a zetec s estate in silver
