Chrysler 300C's.... Am I wrong to like em?!!
Been looking at alternative motors once the truck is sold (not busy at work!!) and have been looking into the Chrysler 300C's. Ive always liked them and like the way they drive (hired one on 2 different occasions in the US, only the Hemi V8 one). The SRT8 looks superb but a bit too dear still. Bit gangsta looking I know but the black or white ones look superb on a nice set of alloys!
Has anyone driven the CRD (diesel) one or the 3.5V6 Petrol? Wouldnt mind going for a 5.7 hemi as the fuel consumption figures are better than the Lightning but there are far more V6 ones available for sale in the UK! Not overly fussed about power but want a little bit of grunt (ie - 530i BMW type power is fine)! I know Clarkson didnt really like em but thats his opinion! (He hated the Lightning which I love!)

Tacky bit of bling i think.
Most folk that own them want an escalade or a bently or a hummer, but they can only afford the chrysler alternative so get it instead - my opinion anyway, sure they are decent cars but not the real deal.

I like them too! Cracking value for money now in my opinion. Fortunes when they go wrong though and in my experience the chrysler dealer network is chocolate fucking teapot.
Not driven a derv version but the 3.0TD lump is more or less straight out of the Mercedes, so a pretty well proven engine.

Ive been looking at them too, looks pimping on the outside, well when on some big rims, but the dash is horrific IMO, like a plastic tub
Still if i cant find a Navara for the right price i may take a proper look at the estate version.

There's one round my way, don't see them about so go for it if you want something different! Look proper 'pimping' on a big set of wheels, but shite interiors and yank motors kinda go hand in hand!

Personally I think they are great looking. I mean, who the fuck cares about how they drive, so long as the ride is comfortable, they are for cruising!

I used to work at a Dealership that sold these... actually quite liked the way the TD version drove, its basically a previous generation E-Class underneath and the engine/transmission is a Merc unit too. Interior is built alright, but the quality is poor.

They're based on the old W210 E-Class Merc so should be pretty sound.
Quality in detail is rubbish as in all yank cars so don't be surprised if the interieur falls apart in a few years.
And yes, I like them, too. Black saloon with tinted windows... Mhhhhmmmm

Mate has a diesel and put either 22 or 24's on i forget which. It's mpped too and fuck me it's quick. Transported him and fiance and me ad the wife 300 mile round trip with ease and was still quite quick with a loaded boot and car!

comfy, look kind of cool, feel a bit cheap though.
TBH id sooner just have a secondhand jag that was a bit older for the same money, or a 7 series etc.
But if you want the look, its a shit load of car for the cash!

So the diesel ones go ok then?! I'd prefer to get an SRT8 but the fuel would be just as bad as my Lightning, plus they are rare in the UK to find one!
Interior is my only worry to be honest, but saying that the Lightning ones are awful as well!!
