Default Engine Cleaning

Ok this might sound like a stupid question to some, but what is the simplest way to clean my engine bay, im doin a little maintance on the car and i was thinkin about given her a gd old clean and the engine is dirty as hell.

bit of engine cleaner an a good ol session with a steam cleaner

Gunk put/scrub on with paint brush when engine is hot then rinse off.

how can you cover the plugs though?? or water cant go through?

Degrease engine bay with a good degreaser then use a paint brush or detail brush to agitate, then cover the main areas like plugs/dizzy any ecus with some microfibre towels,rinse of with a hose or powerwash just dont point it point blank at electrics,it should be fine

no easy way to clean an engine - which is needing a good clean
plenty of a good de - greaser and a jet washer
