Default Just remapped the ST....

Fancy a race, XR2i carl??

In all seriousness, what a transformation. I used Dreamscience for their generic tune files, they quote 270bhp and 330lbft, which should do nicely!

Very very pleased

Dont know yet. I have a new job and may be able to get a company car which will allow me to get the escort on the road once I have sorted my finances out

A Ford ranger drove head on into me when I was stopped on my side of the road.
As it was so tall it rode over the bumper and has wrapped the radiator, bonnet and ecu around the crushed engine. LOL

About 8 grands worth of damage. Thank god for insurance and GAP

EDIT: Sorry for hi-jacking thread.

Drove several ST's with DS, Bluefin etc.

They all make a real positive difference within minutes, makes you realise how frugal Ford were when they released it with just over 220bhp.

Too right, who'd have thought 15 years ago you could get and extra 40-50bhp from a car in 5 mins without even opening the bonnet!

Too right, can't wait for that

Makes a fucking great backfire out the exhaust too when you lift off in 2nd gear, which I found out just now

I had a dreamscience unit when I had my ST, used the generic map DSCI, best thing ever, infact it was the best single mod done to any car I have ever owned.
Combine that with a decent airfilter and get rid of standard airbox and u will notice another big difference and will give you a very nice responsive and fairly quick ST.

I did yes, Race+ is the most aggressive mid range map they have, but the boost tails off quick after 5000rpm.
Also, after the initial difference your car will also adjust itself to you, the STs run a KAM sensor which means it sort of learns the way you drive and optimises everything to suit you. So after you have done a full tank or so in the car it will have adjust itself.
DSCI is a all round map which gives you only slightly less torque midrange and I really mean slightly, but it holds boost much higher up the revs and i found it better suited to me.
Sts really suffer from heat soak, and majorly restricted air intake and downpipe, change those to a fmic, induction kit with cold air intake and a 3 inch downpipe with either a sports cat or decat and it will be a very quick road car.
I loved every second of my ST and im gutted I sold it, your making me jealous lol.

Cheers for the info mate, I'll leave the race+ on for a few days then swap it over to dsci to see the difference! All those bits are on the shopping list, but the mrs keeps reminding me that we get married in september so we've got our priorities elsewhere

A mate of mine's ST has got DS, a fmic and an exhaust system, that's a quick bit of kit! Would be interesting in seeing how it compares to mine side by side!

Deffinetly mate, friend of mine had a mapped E46 M3 and side by side from 30 I would show him a good 8-10 car lengths up untill 130 odd when he would start to claw back, but 9 times out of 10 the race was over well before then. Top end they dont do much more than a genuine 155mph, but 30-130 is lightning.

I used to have a dreamscience on mine and I ran the DSCI map and that gave 260bhp and 360lbft with a panel filter, ecu spacer and decat. They never ever make the bhp figures that dreamscience quote but the torque is fantastic My MPG was no different to standard

Watch out for your clutch on race+ though, there was a batch of cars around about your age that suffer with clutch issues when "mapped", read more about it on the focusstoc.com

my st has got a few more bits than just the remap but the fuels down to 19mpg now.
with the extra power you will drive differently so using more fuel anyway...probably.

enjoy the extra new found power

What year was the face lift on the Focus ST, 2007??

Didn't they fit a better IC as standard on that??

My car was running uprated fmic, downpipe, decat, code red induction kit with the cold air feed and the remap, supposedly good for 280-290 bhp and around 360-365 lbs of torque with that lot.
Not here to bullshit mate, in gear they are very good, together with the torque, short gearing 30-130 the only thing I raced that beat me was my mates saff, that was around 360bhp or so.

57 plates were facelift, mine was a late 07, they had the black insides in the headlights.
Not sure on the intercooler thing though.

Perfect capable car mate, as long as you dont mind a juicy car, short journeys and town driving returned me about 22-24 mpgs driving gently. Longer runs I regularly saw 32-34 mpgs.
Other than that which I didnt mind I loved it.

I'm use to poor MPG, had an ST24 until not long ago & that struggled to do 28mpg on a motorway run.

Dan,

My cars have got fuck all to do with you in any way and I have no reason to lie or need to explain myself to you.

I have offered to sort out our issues but you have stated you wont accept my messages on another thread on PF and I wont discuss them in public so its stalemate for now.

Intercoolers changed over on an 06 plate I think, mine is a 56 and mine has the bigger intercooler on it, the bigger standard ones still aren't up to the job though

But the money you owe me has got something to do with me. And your telling me lies over the last few years that your fooking poor and have no money to sort it out. The lies are proved by the fact you bought a couple of cars....your an arse....

The money fooks me off but what is worse the the bullshit lies you spout....

You have no intention of paying that money back...if you did, you simply would, end of.

It's not a large amount of cash, you could get it easy and then Big lee gets some for his fund and the rest goes to another charity......but no you won't and your sling me some more bullshit....again proved by the statement above. There is no stalemate, I'm waiting for your PM you said you would send me with your idea to sort it out.....

recently we've fitted a few focus ST's with the airtec cooler & autospecialists induction kit, that with an exhaust & custom map makes for a really good to drive & powerfull car
