Default Thermo time switch (ERST)

Right, am i right in saying its purpose is to tell the cold start valve when to go on and off?

if so i think mine needs changed, either that or cold start valve is nacked!

Car dont like starting from cold and runs a lil bit rough till its been runing for bout 30 seconds, no sign of revs dropping or idlinghigher as u wuld expect with cold start valve working?

Ive got spare cold start valve an thermo time switch but dunno if their working or not, how can they both be tested to see it they are in working order?

Also, i know that by taking the plug off the cold start valve its meant to help the car start better in from cold but its best not to leave it off all together, what happens when u take it off, is cold start valve permanently on?

car jus turned over n over today, tried metering flap but must of flooded it, COMPLETE CUNT usually starts with metering flap held down slightly, (the car hardly gets used so needs a lil help to start but once started it runs perfect, been set up not long ago too) i cant see any other probs with it so i assume it is just the CSV

i'll give that a go mate, cheeRS it usually does start , cuts out, then starts and idles rough for bout 30 seconds, cant rev it or it cuts out, or u gotta rev it REALLY slowwly off the throttle but if u bk of quick it cuts out also, but once idling for 30secs its brand new

try unplugging the cold-start multiplug for starters im guessing this may make the problem better but wont cure it completely...

if the valve is leaking (not uncommon) then unplugging the multiplug wont make any ifference
