Exactly, it's the I4 2.0 8V Twincam engine. I used to have one. They normally have a very good spec with a few sporty accents such as sport seats (no recaros though), 4 headrests, rear spoiler, fog lamps, gas-filled dampers, color-coded bumpers and door mirrors, etc. But at the end of the day they're still only a normal Sierra. Maybe comparable to a Ghia model...

With low mileage... Maybe somewhere between 500 - 1500 pounds?

There were a few yes, but it was just basically any old 2.0 8v Sierra with an XR4i badge on, and isn't going to be worth any more than any other 2.0 8v Sierra I shouldn't think.

i used to have one a 1991 2.0 twin cam xr4x4 (not xr4i as the 4i was rwd) it was in gray and absolutly mint, 42k on the clock and ws taken in part ex on one of my old cars, it sold after 4 months of trying for £900 and that was back in 2003 so i dont think it will be worth much now, its bacsically a pinto block with a twin cam 8 valve head, not very quick but a nice comfy car

i have had every type of xr4 and yeah the 2ltrs xr4is are a bit watered down but mine would handle well and spin the back wheels so it was all good bitd. 2ltrs xr4x4 gripped well and could chuck them around so i liked them plus they were cheep on jungle juice which lets face it is important for some people so they had niche.

i bought them and made a nice earner on them so they wern't that bad.
quite liked the squareness of the seat patterns too lol and they had a decent spec like heated screen,e/mirrors/winders/cl/sunshine roof/etcetc

the 2.0 litre twin cam was the last productionrunof the xr4x4, due to the rising fuel costs. a few rare versions are around the minker,a turbo tecnics model. i have one of the last 10 xr4x4s apparently (can any one verify), it came with full electeic pack,RS suspension,as on cossies, recaros, nice RS side skirts.etc. it was speced up to sell to make way for the all ready available mondy.an exelent handeling car, unburstable engine, decent on fuel . check out my pics.click link,

i have had a few 2ltr xr4x4's,the problem with these cars was a recession and the insurance crisis of 1992 nearly killed off performance car sales.
i was messing about with cars then and know first hand what increased insurance premiums were doing to sporty ford values.
ford dropped the smaller donkey in but it wasn't a great seller.
i had a xr4x4 2ltr a few years ago and it was amazing condition, like a 3 year old car with no rust whatsoever,no rips or seat holes just a few stone chips and creases on the drivers seat,i wished i kept it but with a escort cosworth and a evo 8 around me it was time to move it on and i had no trouble selling it.
also the heads on them are shit and thats the biggest problem, they crack and i used to see mint cars scrapped cos the donkeys were too dear to fix unfortunately.

no xr came with recaros from factory as it wasnt an option

i think you will find that your seats are fiest turbo ones as they used the same cloth pattern as late xr4x4s, abd its a give away as you can see the recliner handles for those seats as they should be in a 2dr, as ford wouldnt fit 2 door sits into a 4door

looks nice though

the seats do infact tilt forward and recaros were offered as an option, on this year! they are origonal factory fit with 2 lumbar supports, height adjustments etc. the catalouge of ford cars that came with my car, states recaros can be ordered for the car from new! since the seats are identical to the cossies one would assume they are the real deal!!

Not to poke my nose in but I had a passenger tilt shadow cloth Recaro seat only one mind.I have no idead what it was originally from.It was identical cloth as a Sapp and I sold it to someone with a 3dr looker who had fitted a Sapp trim Which I also sold him.I stung him for £60 for the tilter He got fed up of winding the seat forward.Any ideas where that could of come from.I have never seen a 3dr Coz with shadow cloth

i still say it never came with those seats lol

considering the sierra and fiesta were made at different factorys

and now looking at the seats properly there escort cosworth cloth outers and someone has had the centres retrimmed to match

so i was wrong they were frst seats but there frame and outers are definitly escort cosworth

but its still a nice car as i love the xr4x4s regardless of what interior is in it, well bar the std seats which are wank

Interesting..... as iirc door cards and everything match , it could be true what your saying, but everything seems factory, it doesnt look /feel like its been re trimmed.
