I'm looking for a bit of info on investment clubs, and as there are a fair few people on here i am hoping that someone dabbles in this area!

A piece of coursework for uni we have been set the task of setting up an investment club/company, however we are having a few difficulties looking for some info regarding setting up the company as a limited liability partnership (LLP). What i need to know is whether we are able to purchase shares as an LLP as i have read somewhere that you aren't able to as a normal partnership as share certificates cannot be in the name of a partnership. Is this true also for an LLP and is there legally anyway around this?

We would prefer to be an LLP due to tax and company structure benefits, but obviously if it is not possible to purchase shares then it will be pointles.
