Default fiesta rst headgasket change?

hey guys, am possibly going to be getting hold of another fiesta rst in the near future. it has suspected head gasket failure. im wondering if there is anybody local who can do the work for me if i get the parts? i will be using original ford parts with new bolts, timing belt kit etc. im hoping that the head will not need a skim so really just need somebody local to do the work?

To be honest you need to get the head inspected to be safe.

think i will just get it done then, il probs strip it myself, send head off to get skimmed etc and then find somebody to put it back together, im quite comfortable doing most things its just the timing id rather pay somebody else to do as i dont have any timing pins etc and if i fuck it up its not a cheap fix

You can check the head yourself with straight edge and torch, but if not competent just take to a machine shop, only takes a few mins to check for flatness.
It defo needs checking as alloy heads can develop fissure cracks easy, but always machine out easy, should be around £30 -£35 for a skim I would have thought.
Might as well get the lot looked at whilst there, if seats need doing get 3 angle seats done.
