Default Where do i stand?

To cut a long story short, my boss isnt paying the council rates on the unit and doesnt plan to as hes a prize bellend and says the landlord told him they were included when he started renting it 2 years ago

Anyways i work for him valeting and have a little area to valet one car at a time at the front and the rest of the unit he has stored about15-20 shitters that either need work to sell or are just general junk, he was in court on thursday and came in this morning saying he will be removing all the cars tomorrow now he is the sort of bloke who wont tell me whats happening till its happened and many a time i have had debt collectors/ rates people etc come down, so my question is, if debt collectors etc turn up to start takin stuff is MY car which is being restored on axle stands at risk? its in my name...... and i am on the books etc etc thats how i proved the unit isnt mine as my boss told the rates people the unit was nothing to do with him.....nice bloke eh? but dont worry have had a few recent job offers of which im sure i will be taking

Many thanks

Your car shouldn't be at risk but, with possession being 9/10ths of the law, why take the risk?

It's fairly obvious he's about to get shut down so, if it was me, I'd get some wheels on it and move it somewhere so there is no doubt.

Or maybe borrow his trailer when he arrives to start moving his cars to safety...

If it's for debts they can't take it, the same as they can't take customers cars.

The land lord will ask you to remove it if he repossesses the unit.

you own it so they cant take it but if they turn up one day without your knowledge and take the lot thinking they're all his then it'll be a pain in the arse getting it back so i wouldnt risk it.

just get it somehwhere safe now!

then tell your boss hes a ****************************** and leave him to deal with his shit otherwise he's gonna get you to drive them cars where he wants and if you get pulled you'll be fucked over.

well they could chain the unit rather than remove then but either way like said if they take possession of the unit what ever is in said unit is at risk and proving its yours will be hard and be hard for you to get back

so your doing the right thing by moving it

If it was me i would get the car out of there asap matey in case they turn up when your not there and remove all the cars including yours.

Also try and find out who the landlord is and have a chat with him about what the rent and rates are as you could start your own company and try to keep your bosses current clientell as it sounds like your boss couldnt give two fucks about his business.

Worth a thought matey. Some good money involved in detailing etc
