A New Build From Michael Woodford Motorsport
Firstly the build only started today. We hoping to finnish by tommorrow.
We have never carried out a build quite like this before so any comments are welcome from people experanced in the feild.
So far we haven't needed may tools, We've used a spelthorne recycling box, X2 shovels, a trowel and a fish slice.
Heres some build photos
It is currently about 5foot high and the floor space is about 10foot in diameter. We plan to go back tommorrow and build another 3 bricks high witch should draw it to a close at the top. If we do actully get it compleated me and my mate are going to spend the night in it tommorrow night

remember your sleeping area needs to be higher than the entrance. The idea being cold air sinks so you can be sleeping just out of the freezing air layer.
also dont forget to poke a couple of ventilation holes in top with your ski poles (end removed of course). especially important if using a gas stove!!!!
Make your entrance in the lee of the wind to avoid direct drafts. If you cant or the wind is shifting then build a small snow wall infront of entrance.

to stop it falling in you need to be accurate with making your bricks to they support each other. you can also cross brace with a couple of sticks which you remove.
when the royals showed us how its done, they used a massive wood saw to cut the snow as you can get nice accurate shaped bricks!
The cheat method is build the igloo on a rounded pile of snow then once complete you dig it out via the entrance.

*UPDATE*
So today we compleated the build. We added 2 more items to our tools used list, One was a ladder, the other a pallet.
We got a bit carried away size wise at it currently stands at just over 12ft tall.
People were pulling over and photoing us and beeping as they drove past.
So as stated about, tonight i will be sleeping in it. Got to be worth it for shits and giggles
