Default Which is fastest, turbo or na?

Which is fastest a turbo car or a naturally aspirated car with the same brake horsepower? If your answer is the one with the most torque then which would have more torque. 2 focuses everything the same but ones an rs 220bhp and one throttle bodies cams an all 220bhp. Im guessing youll say the turbo but id like to know for sure.

Fastest at what? Cause if they both have the same bhp, top speed is going to be the same i imagine. 1/4 miles? -100?

Not top speed. Quickest to 100mph for example.

there seems to be an unwritten rule that on track a turbo car needs 30% more power to be as quick as a N/A car, this is assuming identical cars, weights drivers, etc..

the turbo car will have a lag, but will have more torque low down. i think it would be more down to the driver.

From standstill to 100mph I would say turbo, because a highly tuned NA will have a narrow power band. On track, the lag of the turbo will make the NA quicker.

Very little in it tough if both are well done.

its a very vague question, as brake horse power is the only detail, 220 hp can be achieve a few ways on both NA and turbo, providing different power delivery characteristics

I'd say the turbo, due to the torque.

Quicker to do what? There are literally thousands of variables. It'd probably come down to the n/a been quicker. But in the real world the turbo would be quicker as its much easier.

For example if the engines were the same size, the turbo could produce peak power for 50% of the rpm range easily. Whereas the n/a would only hit the peak hp point for a few RPM's.

It would depend on the gearbox ratios etc etc as well.
