Drag racing in the uk is still a pretty niche sport, and one with very few YB's in it being taken seriously.

So it stands to reason that our cars dont make the power that they do in other countries where they are focussed more on power than us!

 

and u really think a rwd 1000bhp on road tyres (as it states) will do a 1/4 mile in the 9s lol it dosent add up mate the escort is a drag car 4x4 with slicks and is no faster

Its got literally twice the useful power band, but then thats cause im not into drag racing, I like fast road cars and trackday cars, which rod's engine would be far better suited to both of than that one will.

So its all down to what you want from an engine.

Elvington isnt a proper drag strip, and TOTB is supposed to be for road cars. And invites are all good and well. But Invites dont pay travel costs etc. And bringing a car to take parts in foreign events is anything but cheap !

Road tyres is a loose term. Mickey Thompson ET Street wrinkle walls are DOT approved, and some would try and call them road tyres.

I dont have anywhere near 1000bhp, I'm rwd and far heavier than any of your cars, and can do 9's on them. I personally wouldnt call them road tyres though.
