Default Any Audi / Sat Nav gurus out there?

Anyone know anything about the Audi Sat Nav?

It's my S8 Quattro and its running the Audi RNS-D Sat Nav / TV system

Basically had some work done on the car and the garage nipped a wire, this caused various issues with lights not working, warnings coming up on the dash etc and the Batt to drain to the point of no recovery.

The car sat at my work for 4 days waiting on recovery from the garage in Question.

Uppon recovery of the car everything was sorted out, New Batt fitted and it was happy days

Now though when i try the Sat Nav my position is showing about 30 miles from where i actually am.
If i go into the settings and check out the GPS stuff it's showing that their are 30 satelites availlable and it's receiving 0

Id have thought that if the GPS antena was goosed then it wouldnt show the amount of availlable sats??

Have tried the usuals like looking at fuses and removing the disc, cleaning and re loading it but am now starting to struggle with what to do next.

Any ideas anyone??

Cheers,

p.s. remember i'm Scottish so dont like spending money

Unfortunately for you my friend they could be in for a HUGE bill

All the signal "wires" are actually optic fibre cables . Including window motors etc are signal controled by fibre optic cable sending a signal to the motor at the window

If they have cut an optic cable it fooks everything up royally on that set of cables .

Call Audi locally ask to speak to someone in service ie the manager and explain to him/her whats happened and ask for advice . I have done this with issues in the past and they have been brilliant

No need to be sorry mate its just the sort of answer i'm looking for.

From what i have sussed so far the unit (Radio / Sat Nav / TV) all runs through the TMC module which converts it from the Bosch Can Bus system to the Audi Can Bus system. What they say is if the Unit is working correctly then this shows that all the wiring for it is ok.

The unit is working correctly its just the satelites it's not picking up stopping it from aligning it's self on the map

Has to be something with the GPS Antena / Cable or a setting??

Failing that the TomTom will make an appearance again
