I watched Uncle Buck last week and there was a time when I used to thing John Candy (RIP) was huge but that's nothing now I don't know what he weighed but surely it's nothing really out of the normal surely, he can't have been over 30 stone?

In Vegas last year first time in the US and i never really bought the fat American thing, until my first all you can eat breakfast. Huge over weight people cramming there plates with pancakes, bacon, eggs, styrrup, all sorts guzzling them down and then going back up for more and then again.

So true; i went to Vegas in May to watch the Hatton fight, me and my mate went for breaky and i only wanted some toast.

got in the hotel retaurant and the choice was huge but i could not get my head around what else was available:,
doughnuts, cake, cookies, pancakes, omlettles (with meat), puddings.

maybe judgemental, but i assume this women was American - she must have been 25 stone and i saw her go up 2 times for a plate full of pudding & sweets...made me feel quite ill actually

not to tar all americans with the same brush, as i did she alot slim people too

The reason for all the heavy Americans is due to the cheap and abundant food supplies everywhere and really no self control. Combine that with years of non-involvement from the federal and state health departments, you should see some of the stuff served for lunch to kids while at school. I was blessed with caring parents who made my lunch daily except for Fridays' in which I was given money to buy whatever I wanted to eat. Once a week. Again, with anything in life, its all about moderation. Britain is not much better, I've been there.

Typical English food is fat laden as well and full of starches like potatoes and pastas.

Out of curiosity, ever visit southern California during the summer? Not a fatty in site, just blondies in bikinis. With sweat glistening down their cleavage and its free to stare. Or Florida or New Jersey? This country of mine has the most beautiful women anywhere in the world.

Went snowboarding to the states last winter and got to one of them grill places late ish one night. They said "sorry were not serving food anymore, but we can do you a side order". So we all got cheeseburger and chips which was bigger than a bigmac meal over here. F*ck knows what they think a proper meal is then.
