Of course if he'd have nicked the car and done 85mph through the village, im sure he'd have got away with a lesser fine. Although i dont know what there justice system is like compared to ours, but that would certainly be the case over here.

I sort of agree that fines should be based on a % of your income in some way. But saying that, the people you dont work wouldnt have to pay anything in that case so maybe its not such a good idea.
