My X-box packed in and I sent it off on Monday. Well, I actually took it to UPS in Wales as I fancied the mission. Anyway, It's Thursday now and apparently it's been fixed and is on its way back to me. It's been to Germany, been repaired and sent back in four days!!

How quick is that?? I was expecting to wait forever. Here is were it takes three weeks to come back lol!

Do they actually fix your old one or just send you a refurbed one and then fix your one?
Don't know anything about Xboxes, they might be easy to fix

 

You could either get a new one, a refurbished one or your own fixed. I hope I get a new one - Ha Ha.

i presume theyve actually fixed the manufacturing faults on new xboxs so it doesnt keep happening?

Im pretty sure when you send it off they replace the cooling unit for the cpu to the same one that comes in the elites. I should imagine a pretty straight forward task.

Still, good on them for sorting it out that quickly. As said above, they must be getting about a 1000 a day, so they must have alot of people on the case.

 

what it is is a plate that is over the top of the cpu it over heats and causes the solder to snap from the circuit board my gf's dad fixes them they remove the disk drive remove the sheild from below and re solder the circuit board then replace the drive without the heat sheild

 

i wish HP were as good my laptop has similar cooling fault. theyve had 1000's too and its a known manufacturing fault but theyve done the opposite of microsoft and denied all responsibility!

My mam has a cheapo HP laptop for messing about on, it's the worst machine I've ever used.

Fair play for microsoft sorting you out so quick Benni, but still, PS3 ftw.

 

 

When you get a new XBox is the warrenty a year or 2?

Also do you need to send anything off to activate your warrenty with them?
