Default any nissan mechanic's on here?

a mate of mine has a nissan navara o3 2.5td..he came to pick me and my friend up from the airport 4 mile down the road it started getting very ticky told him to pull over, got out and looked he reved it up a little then i heard which sounded like a timing chain breaking when he went to restart it it just sounded as if the chain had snapped..anyone had any dealings with theses nissan diesels? cheers hugh

these are notorious for knocking big ends out, Nissan have extended the warranty on the engines only to 5 years

hi mate, so by the sound of it he'd probably be better buying a second hand engine for it, or could he get his own fixed or would that be two expensive? is this the main problem with theses engines mate?, cheers hugh

i can't be spot on with my diagnosis as i have not seen the car however it is a very common problem, do a search on goggle

they made the british ones with crap shells apparently, very common google it.
