Default fiesta RS1800 differences

ive heard it said a few times now that due to cost cutting the later RS1800 fiestas were not as good but i dont understand, i own a 1992 car and a mk 3.5 m plate car, the early car came with the recaro interior and a heated front screen and thats about it where as the later car came with abs, twin airbags, pas, alarm and double locking, a stronger chassis and maybe more, the later car is better to drive day to day too as its safer and eaisier to drive and park, in fairness the older car feels quicker maybe due to the weight, so does anyone know where the cost cutting went, it cant just be the front seats.

Later ones had Recaros and Alloys as an option rather than standard IIRC. There loads more too but I cant remember it all.....it's all detailed on the RSOC site i think

i was also thinking of putting a recaro interior in it out of a frst, does anyone know if this is the same interior as the one available on the options list for the later mk 3.5 RS1800. thanks.

The mk3.5 fiesta had........

Additional drivers air bag
optional passenger airbag
optional abs
optional heated mirrors but the newer mirrors
unpainted rear hatch spoiler
optional alloys which were a matt finish rather than a polished finish
winged seats instead of the recarro

But they had a better chassis
replacement fuel filler flap no more rot..

And a few other extra bits

Si

Wish I had not sold mine now

Fitting Recarros in a 3.5 is Ok but you will need to swap the subframes over from the winged seats as the floor pan and carpet is different....

Mk3 fiesta turbo floor mats dont fit the 3.5

Isn't it funny how there was no information on the RSOC site about the Fiesta RS1800 until www.rs1800.com came online.
